I have now finally completed my final design for the report, a design I feel perfectly fits the brief and PDS.
The headphones would be made on demand for the customer, by 3D scanning their ears, where a computer algorithm would create the shape and then finalise the design to be 3D printed with a binder jetting 3D printer.
The colour scheme would be completely up to the customer as the printer type can print in full CMYK colour.
Overall I am really quite happy with this design, I feel that the project as a whole has improved my knowledge in design and I also feel like my design for manufacture with a 3D printer has improved dramatically.
I have also purchased a 3D printer of my own now as well, in order to constantly improve my skills and in order to be able to create models and prototypes when I want.
