Day 27 – Finalizing the sales day stuff

Howdy,

Today we finalized all our point of sales stands and promotional items, as well as deciding how everything would fit together to make the perfect sales stall. I started the day by creating another acrylic stand to match the original. I managed to locate another off cut of the plastic I had used in the original and proceeded to mark out and cut the acrylic. Once I had completed, I used a line bender again to bend the acrylic to shape.

Using these simple skills has definitely improved my capabilities to make small, simple things within the workshop, especially point of sale stands. It was also greatly enjoyable to be able to use my hands in the workshop and make something that could be used and I was really happy with the quality of the result.

We spent the rest of the day deciding how we would be able to move our stock and promotional material to our sales area in the CSM building at Llandaff. I had previously asked around and found that it was possible to get a parking pass for a day and so I asked our course tutor – Richard Morris, if he could possibly sort out a permit so I could drive my car with all of our stuff to Llandaff on the sales day and park at the campus so I could take them back at the end of the day. At the time, I had had no definitive reply and so we decided we would likely call a taxi from the Howard Gardens campus in the morning.

Once I had arrived home, I realised that I had had a reply from Angie Dutton – the administrator for the enterprise division of the university, saying that I had a space reserved for me tomorrow for our sales day, at which point I decided once again that I would drive.
